As the Director of the Career Guidance Unit (CGU) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, I warmly welcome you to our website. As a result of the education reforms in late -90s particularly promoted by the work of the Presidential Task Force on higher education, the formal career guidance services were started at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura with the setting up of the Career Guidance Unit in March 1998 as the pioneering unit in the national university system. The CGU played a unique role as the mediator between the university and the corporate world while integrating the career guidance activities with the Circular of the University Grants Commission. The CGU of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura is committed to enhance the employability of all our undergraduates in order to enable them to compete and flourish in a competitive, turbulent knowledge based economy.
