Research in the Department carried out by staff and postgraduate students covers a wide range of fields. These include research in silviculture, forest ecology, taxonomy, timber technology, furniture design, agro-forestry, tree improvement, forest management, wildlife conservation, environmental economics, pollution control, waste management, environmental impact assessment, post-tsunami rehabilitation etc.
