The University of Sri Jayewardenepura wishes to express its deepest sympathy in regards to the death of  Mr. K. A. Dharmasena, Senior Lecturer, Department of Social Statistic, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Mr. K. A. Dharmasena was first appointed as a lecturer to the Department of Economic in the year 1995 and joined to the Department of Social Statistics after its separation from the Economic Department in 1996.

He was served as the Head, of the Department of Social Statistics from 2006 to 2009 and as student counselor from 2000 to 2001 and as a course coordinator (Social Statistic) in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

In past 21 years of his service to the Department as a Senior Lecturer (Grade I) he conducted lecturers in various field of studies such as Time series analysis, Categorical Data Analysis, Multivariate analysis, etc .

Also Mr. K. A. Dharmasena was appointed as a coordinator for business statistics (Special) Degree programme and Management and Information Technology (General) Degree programme as well has served as the coordinator for the post graduate studies. And he had been the head of the evaluation committee for the advanced level subject of Social Statistics.

His remains lie at 7/353, Silver Gate, Makandara Road, Batakeththa, Piliyandala. The funeral will take place on 12th September, 2017 at the Batakeththa Cemetary at  4.00 pm.
