‘Wedikawen Mahapolowata’ 2015 commenced with a colourful procession by students on the 29th September. There were dance items representing different cultures and different occupations of the world. It was a perfect comeback attraction since the program is being held this time after a lapse of three years. ‘Wedikawen Mahapolowata’ will continue till the 6th of November, with a series of artistic events lined up for the time allocated.

The title itself explains the purpose of the program : to give something worthwhile to society from the stage. The principal aim is to give a social value to art instead of it being marketed around. Presently art and artists are constricted in financial concerns and the organizers plan to ease that effect even in the least they can. It also hopes to build a platform for budding artists and make them come forward with confidence. Students today are rather distant from art and literature and ‘wedikawen mahapolowata’ attempts to create an interest for it in them, as well as to unite university students with the aid of art.
