DESCRIPTION:The International Medical Undergraduate Research Conference (IMURC) is organized by the Department of Community Medicine\, Faculty of Medical Sciences\, University of Sri Jayewardenepura\, Sri Lanka\, as part of the 60th anniversary celebrations of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Established in 1978\, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura is a renowned higher education institute in Sri Lanka and is committed to engaging in high quality research of local and international relevance. \nIMURC 2019 is a two day academic conference to be held on the 7th and 8th February 2019\, in Colombo. IMURC will provide local and international medical undergraduates the unique opportunity of presenting and discussing their research work with peers and experts and networking with participants. \nIMURC will challenge undergraduates to rethink their work in an international context and to examine and share global trends in their areas of interest. The conference will feature local and international speakers and will provide a platform for undergraduates to share knowledge and discuss issues of global importance with experts. \nIMURC invites medical and allied health undergraduates to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. Abstract submissions are now open.

This programme aims to provide a sense of direction to our students guiding them in making advantageous career choices with more conviction and confidence. \nJob shadowing is a globally recognized learning practice. It opens a forum for successful professionals to share their journey and experience with the new blood in the market. It provides a wonderful opportunity for our youth to explore new avenues and be better informed in their decisions making the process.

DESCRIPTION:Back then\, we strived to bag the best Advance Level results hoping that it’ll make us happy and that things will be better afterwards. So we did\, we got the best results and here we are at the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce\, University of Sri Jayewardenepura  – the pioneering\, largest and leading faculty for management education in the country. \nThat joy of being selected to university was quite short lived however because now looming ahead of us are the challenges of getting through all examinations\, polishing up our skills\, hunting down a good job\, a lucrative career perhaps and if all goes well – a house and a car and a spouse and the list goes on.. \nSuccess will come and go and someday hopefully stay\, but how about happiness? Is doing this degree making you as happy as you thought it would? Has this journey of going from one life challenge to another been fun? SUMMARY:Hands on Workshop for Materials Characterization
DESCRIPTION:IC-FAS is pleased to offer two-day hands on workshop focused on wide range materials characterizations. The workshop will provide a working knowledge of each technique and how these methods are used to characterize material properties. General concepts and specific examples will be used to illustrate how these methods are employed to characterize the materials. Participants will gain practical knowledge of the measurement techniques along with the tools to get the most out of their instrumentation. By discussing common applications\, the attendees will also learn how each testing technique can be used to differentiate materials and ultimately predict and optimize product performance. This practical workshop is geared for both experienced users that want to better understand the measurement technologies\, and those new to material characterizations. \nIf you are not yet currently using these characterization techniques\, this workshop will provide insight into how the instrumentation may complement your existing laboratory capabilities.  Further the interactive sessions will also be a great opportunity to meet and discuss your testing needs with our applications specialists. \nThe registration includes lunch\, refreshments and a certificate for participation.
