Dr. Amarasekara is visiting from the United States to share his perspectives on sustainable innovation and his extensive experience within the international chemical industry. \nDr. Amarasekara’s visit offers a unique opportunity for our academic community to engage with an industry leader who has successfully bridged fundamental research and large-scale industrial application. He currently serves as a Senior Consultant to the chemical industry in the USA\, bringing over three decades of leadership experience from some of the world’s most influential corporations\, including SABIC\, General Electric (GE)\, and BASF. His career has been marked by leading technology ventures\, driving sustainability initiatives\, and managing global innovation teams across the USA\, China\, and Saudi Arabia. \nWith deep expertise in thermoplastics\, elastomers\, and high-performance composites\, Dr. Amarasekara has been at the forefront of the ongoing transformation of polymer science in response to global sustainability challenges.
