Movement Disorder Society Symposium
The symposium will be organised under the auspices of the International Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Society
Movement Disorder Symposium will be an extension of five day IBRO/APRC Neuroscience School in which lectures and practical sessions will be conducted by more than 30 international faculties.
To enhance the knowledge among medical residents, postgraduate trainees and young researchers coming from Sri Lanka, other developing countries of Asia-Pacific region and developed countries regarding recent advances in investigations, management and therapeutics which will lead to improve quality of life in movement disorder patients.
To facilitate communication between clinicians and researchers to disseminate updated knowledge on movement disorders
To bridge the gap between neuroscientists and clinicians and to promote multidisciplinary innovative research culture and facilitating research collaborations on movement disorders.
To share the resources unique to Sri Lanka; Brain Bank consisting of 76 normal aging and diseased brain tissues together with a bio-repository of DNA/Gene Bank with over 1,500 samples of neurodegenerative / neuromuscular diseases & stroke, natural products and mind relaxation techniques internationally
