The collection of late Mr. K.D.K. Dharmawardena ( profound musician, lyric writer and a famous announcer ) was donated to the library on 20th March 2017.
Together with the books, two valuable book cupboards were handed over to the library by Mrs. Samadara Kottage, the loving wife of late Mr. K.D.K. Dharmawardena is a well-known announcer of SLBC.
The event was graced by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. SampathAmarathunga, Dean FHSS, Dean FOT, Library committee members, library staff and students.
Addressing the gathering, the VC stated that “we are fortunate enough to have such a collection books which will be beneficial to our students and appreciated the decision taken to donate it to our University. The Librarian (Acting) thanked Mrs. Samadara Kottage for donating the books and Mr. Tharindu Thotawatta and Mr. Ranga Ratnayake for their coordination.
