CERTIFICATE COURSE IN TEACHING IN HIGHER EDUCATION (CTHE)

(Staff Development Centre – UNIVERSITY OF SRI JAYEWARDENEPURA)

Calling for applications (Year 2020)

Applications are invited from those who are suitable to follow the Certificate Course in Teaching in Higher Education (CTHE), which will be conducted by the Staff Development Centre of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (SDC/USJP).

This course is specially designed for the university academic staff. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission to fulfill the requirement to apply for confirmation after completion of the probationary period of lecturers in university services. This course is also designed to play an essential part for career development programme in the university system. The course is scheduled to be commenced at the end of  March, 2020.

 

Medium of instruction     : English

Course duration                : Minimum 6 months

  2. Personal Development and Counseling
  3. Teaching and Learning Methods
  4. Assessment and Evaluation
  5. Curriculum Design and Revision
  6. ICT skills in Higher Education
  7. Quality Assurance in the University
  8. Microteaching sessions – practice sessions
  9. Research in Higher Education
  10. University Administrative Procedures
  11. Strategic Planning and Management for Universities

Learning methods            : Face-to-face sessions, group activities, E-Learning and self-learning etc.

Learning locations           : In-class training at SDC/USJP, Personality, Skills and Leadership Development

Training Programme will be held for 03 days

Course fees                        : Rs.40,000/= ( Course fee has to be paid before the commencement of the course, to the A/C No.097-1001-6-2315454 at Peoples Bank, Gangodawila and  the receipt has to be submitted)

Method of application     : Application fee of Rs. 500/= has to be paid to the above account and submit the receipt along with the application. 

Self-made applications including your full bio-data, has to reach the Director, Staff Development Centre, University of Sri Jayewardenepura on or before 15th March, 2020, by Registered Post.
