Restoring Yagirala Forest Reserve

This programme aims to restore an abandoned Pinus caribaea plantation by planting 1,500 native trees, while removing invasive species, as part of our continued commitment to forest restoration and ecological stewardship.
Background:
A deteriorating Pinus caribaea plantation in the Yagirala Forest Reserve is under threat from invasive species. Research indicates that this area lacks a viable native seed bank, making natural regeneration challenging.

Benefits:
Removing invasive species such as Dillenia suffruticosa and Clidemia hirta to create space for native vegetation.
Enhancing biodiversity and restoring a healthy, resilient ecosystem by planting a diverse mix of native trees and shrubs.

Join us in celebrating World Environment Day by taking action to restore our environment.
We’ll remove invasives and plant 1500 native trees to revitalize an abandoned Pinus caribaea plantation in the Yagirala Forest Reserve.

Let’s restore.  Let’s protect.
Let’s grow –  together
