USJ Department of Computer Science Facilitated the Adoption of Hospital Health Management – HHIMS System at USJ Medical Center

The medical center of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) becomes the first-ever medical center in a higher education institute of Sri Lanka to benefit from the Hospital Health Management Cloud Service adoption. HHIMS is yet another product from the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka, that was deployed at the Medical Center of USJ in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science (DCS) of USJ. This HHIMS adoption allows the medical center to enjoy a bunch of benefits through its service enhancements. These include fully-fledged Electronic Health Record (EHR) services ranging from Patient Registrations, Appointment Queue Management, Diagnosis and Prescriptions in compliance with global standards for disease classifications, symptom registrations etc. The treatment processes of patients and associated healthcare workflows have been streamlined and automated on HHIMS platform.

The ceremonial launch of the system was held under the patronage of Prof. Sampath Amarathunga (Chairman of the University Grant Commission), Prof. Sudantha Liyanage (Vice-Chancellor of USJ), Eng. Mahinda B Herath (CEO of ICTA), Dr. Palitha Karunapema (Director of Health Information at Ministry of Health), Senior Professor A. Aloka Pathirana (Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of USJ)   and Prof. Prasad Jayaweera (Head & Professor of Computer Science of USJ) and many other distinguished guests, on the 7th of December at the Medical Center of USJ.
