Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Misamis University, Republic of Philippines
To cross the horizon and to reach global standards, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka signed a MoU with prestigious Filipino University – Misamis University on Friday the 19th June 2015 at the Board Room of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. On behalf of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, The Vice Chancellor – Prof. Sampath Amaratunge (Ph.D.) signed the MoU, while Dr. Karen Feliciano De Leon (MD, MBA, Ed.D) – the President of Misamis University, Ozamis City, Philippines represented other party. As witness, Prof. Sudantha Liyanage (Ph.D.), Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Dr. Orlando D De Leon (MD), the Director of Public Relations of Misamis University signed the agreement.
Misamis University is a private University in which the history runs back to 1927, and accredited by the Commission of Higher Education (CHED), Republic of Philippines. Misamis University has schools ranging from Arts and Science, Engineering, Education, Nursing, Paramedical Sciences etc. The MoU signed between two universities would facilitate, exchange of teaching and research materials and publications, Staff and student exchange for enrichment and advancement of two institutions, joint research and organizing joint conferences and academic meetings.
Prof. Sandun Senarath, Head, Department of Botany, University of Sri Jayewardenepura coordinated the event.
