A Group of Monash Academics Visited USJ

A group of academics from the department of Management of Monash University in Australia visited University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) on 08th December, 2014. The group consisted of Professor Julie Wolfram Cox, Head of the Department; Professor Cherrie Zhu; Associate Professor Deirdre O’ Neill; Associate Professor Ramanie Samarathunge; Dr. Michelle Greenwood, and Dr. lakmal Abeysekara. During the visit,  they officially met the Vice Chancellor of the USJ, Professor Sampath Amarathunge; the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce (FMSC) of the USJ, Dr. U Anura Kumara, and some other academic members of the University to discuss about possible ways and means through which the Monash University in Australia could contribute towards enhancing research capacity our academics. On behalf of the USJ, Vice Chancellor warmly welcomed all distinguished academics from Monash.

Also, by accepting an invitation of the staff development program of the FMSC, Dr. Michelle Greenwood conducted a special session on “Getting your research works published in peer-reviewed journals”. It was an interesting session where academics from the FMSC, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Faculty of Applied Science participated in and had some ambiguous things clarified.

Vice Chancellor of the USJ appreciated their contribution already made through Australia Award Fellowship (AAF) program and interest in academically assisting us further to enhance research capacity of our academic staff.
