The Sri Sumangala Auditorium at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was filled with celebration and gratitude on April 11, as AIESEC in USJ hosted Tribute ’25. The event brought together students, faculty members, industry partners, and parents to honor a year of growth, teamwork, and leadership.
The evening featured speeches, performances, and heartfelt moments, including a special tribute titled “Because of You, We Lead” dedicated to the families of AIESEC members for their unwavering support. Chief Guest Mr. Ken Vijayakumar, Senior General Manager at Baur & Co. (Pvt) Ltd, along with esteemed academics Prof. J.W. Dushan Chaminda and Prof. Prasad M. Jayaweera, highlighted the strong ties between AIESEC and the university in fostering student leadership.
A key highlight of the night was the presentation of 26 awards recognizing outstanding contributions by members and teams. Among the top honors, the SheRise team was named Emerging Organizing Committee, LaunchPad 2.0 was recognized as Most Outstanding Organizing Committee, while Ms. Dinuki Masakorala and Ms. Anuththara Gallage received awards for Best Emerging Young Leader and Best Young Leader respectively.
More than a celebration, Tribute ’25 reflected the vibrant student life at USJ and its commitment to holistic education. With strong support from faculty and industry partners, AIESEC in USJ continues to empower students to lead, collaborate, and create meaningful impact beyond the university.
