Mr. Chiththrananda Malwatta Peiris former head and Senior Lecture in the Department of Physiscs of Faculty of Appled Sceiences of University of Sri jayawardenepura has passed away at the age of 70.
Mr. Chiththrananda Malwatta Peiris holds and Bachelor of Science (1st Class) Degree in Physics and Post Graduate Diploma in Statistics. He joined with the USJ as a Temporary Lecture, and by the time Mr. Pieris retired he has completed 44 years of service in the Department of Physics and retired as a Grade I Senior Lecturer in Physics. During his tenure Mr. Pieris hold Head of the Department of Physics 3 times during 2001 to 2009.
The final rites of Mr. Chiththrananda Malwatta Peiris will be performed on 1st of June 2022 (Wednesday) at Boralasgamuwa Public Cemetery, Boralasgamuwa. His remains will be laid at the Boralasgamuwa Funeral Parlor, Boralasgamuwa on 1st of June 2022 from 8.00 am.
