Humanities and Social Sciences Inter Department Debate Competition 2014

Soft Skills development had been recognized as one of the most integral parts in the University academic process. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences was able to identify this necessity thanks to the guidance of the Dean of our Faculty. Consequently, the Soft Skills Development Unit had been established under the supervision of the Dean. Soft Skills Development Unit was able to conduct successfully events/programs as well as workshops within the short period of time since its establishment.

The Inter Department Debate competition had been organized by the Soft Skills Development Unit of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to promote debate skills as a soft skill of our students. Enormous amount of departments represented that event and the Grand Final Round was held in 18th of December 2014 at 9.00 am in the Sumangala Reading Hall with the best compliments and participation of the Hon. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sampath Amaratunge as the Chief Guest of the event. Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Senior Lecturer Mr. C.L.K Nawarathne and honoured Heads of the Departments and the other enlightened academic staff encouraged those students and they were able to illuminate the event precisely.
