Prof. Deheragoda delivers Prestigious CSAMES Lecture at Illinois

Prof. Krishan Deheragoda of the Department of Geography became one of the few Asians to deliver the Prestigious “CSAMES BROWN BAG Lecture of the International Scholar – 2013”, at the University of Illinois, Urbana – Champaign in USA on the theme “Towards Meeting the RIO + 20 Goals and Challenges in Renewable Energy Sector of Sri Lanka”.

Professor Krishan Deheragoda is the Professor of Geography at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a Visiting Research Fellow at Centre for GIS & Spatial Analysis at University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign – USA. He holds a Ph.D. in Recreational Geography (Bulgaria), M.Sc. in Natural Resource Management (Sofia), and Post Graduate Diplomas in Urban and Regional Development Planning (Nagoya), and Resource Survey and Mapping (Colombo). Prof. Deheragoda has held over 20 Senior Academic positions during his 29 yearlong academic and research carrier and until very recently,was the Consultantto the “Higher Education for Twenty First Century Project” of the Ministry of Higher Education.
