The Center for Sustainability (CFS) at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura recently organized a two-day workshop on Urban Tree Care and Management on February 16th and 17th, 2024. The event garnered participation from both government and private sectors and received positive feedback. Led by esteemed resource persons including Prof. Upul Subasinghe, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, and Prof. Hemanthi Ranasinghe from the Department of Forestry and Environmental Science, the workshop featured engaging sessions, hands-on experiences, and insightful discussions. Attendees left the workshop inspired and committed to fostering greener and safer urban spaces. The success of the event was attributed to the active participation of all stakeholders including participants, speakers, and partners. The CFS extends its gratitude to everyone involved and looks forward to continuing collaborative efforts towards a healthier, greener future.
