The Faculty of Computing at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura warmly welcomed its new intake with the inauguration ceremony of the orientation program held on March 26, 2026. The ceremony took place at the Sri Sumangala Auditorium of the university and was graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Senior Prof. Pathmalal M. Manage; the Registrar, Mr. A.B. Weliwita; the Dean of the Faculty of Computing, Prof. Prasad M. Jayaweera; along with Deans of other faculties, Heads of Departments, and members of the academic staff.
The event was organized to provide a comprehensive introduction to both the university and the Faculty of Computing for the newly enrolled students. Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Senior Prof. Pathmalal M. Manage, together with Dean Prof. Prasad M. Jayaweera, shared valuable insights on the current academic landscape and emphasized the importance of adapting to evolving technological advancements to enhance the student experience and future prospects.
