The Cartoon Competition organized in line with World AMR Awareness Week 2025 (18–24 November 2025) by the Public Outreach and Social Responsibilities Committee of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura successfully concluded, recognizing creative efforts that raised awareness on Antimicrobial Resistance under the global theme “Act Now: Protect Our Present, Secure Our Future.”
In the Undergraduate Category,
Kasthuri Rajkumar from the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences secured 1st Place,
Devindi Kankanamge from the Department of Optometry obtained 2nd Place.
N. A. Aloka Sewmini Nishshanka, from the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, was awarded 3rd Place.
The competition aimed to promote awareness on the responsible use of antimicrobials and the growing global threat of antimicrobial resistance, aligning with the global campaign led by the World Health Organization. The School Category did not select winners as the submitted artworks were not aligned with the theme of AMR.
