The orientation programme of the Faculty of Computing USJ took place on the 12th of June, 2023, at the Senate Board Room. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Prof. Upul Subasinghe, the Acting Vice Chancellor of USJ, Senior Prof. Sudantha Liyanage, former Vice Chancellor of USJ, Prof. Prasad M. Jayaweera, the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Computing, and Mr. A.B. Welivita, the Registrar of USJ.
A group of 150 students, who have achieved remarkable Z scores in the G.C.E. (A/L) examination, commenced their academic journey towards obtaining Bachelor of Computing Honours Degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and Information Systems. The Faculty of Computing is the newest and the very first faculty dedicated solely to the emerging computing and related disciplines among public sector universities in Sri Lanka and it was established as the 11th faculty of USJ.
The web team and the university community extend their heartfelt congratulations to the newest batch of students as they embark on a journey of knowledge and growth in their Bachelor of Computing Honours degree programs.
