The 63rd Commemoration of the Most Venerable Welivitiye Sri Soratha Thero will be held on 17th July 2026 at the University premises.

The programme will commence at 8.45 a.m. with the offering of Amisa Pooja at the University Buddha Shrine. This will be followed by the Commemorative Oration at 9.15 a.m. at the Sumangala Hall, delivered by Prof. Wimal Hewamanage  of the Department of Buddhist Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo.
