Japura netball team was awarded with a sponsorship for their playing kit from the 1985-1986 society of Japura graduates. The event was held on 18th of July 2017 with the presence of Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, President of Japura Alumni Association Mr. Ranjith Iddamalgoda, President of 1985-1986 Japura Graduate Society, Mr. J. M. A. Doughlaus, acting Directress of Physical Education Department, Mrs. Nishanthi Vidanage and former Co President Japura sports council Mr. Nuwan Niroshana. Representing the 1985-1986 society of Japura Graduates the secretary of the society Mr. Piyal Pathmanaga, Mr. Kulathunga and representing the Japura Alumni Association Mr. Gamini Silva also participated for the event.
