Botany Dept Isuru Kariyawasam’s Yagirala Forest Bryoflora paper receives award

Isuru Udayanga Kariyawasam, Lecturer at Department of Botany Won “THE BEST PRESENTER AWARD” at the Annual “WILD LANKA” SYMPOSIUM (2016) organised by the Department of Wildlife Conservation, Sri Lanka for his paper on Bryoflora at Yagirala Forest Reserve.

Isuru thanks Department of Botany, Department of Forestry & Environmental SciencWue, USJP, the National Herbarium, his research student Ms.Binusha Gunarathne and Dr.Sumudu Rubasinghe and Ms Ruklani for their guidance and support extended throughout his research work on Bryoflora at the Yagirala Forest Reserve.

His research supervisors at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Dr David Long and Dr. Neil Bell helped him to become a budding taxonomist in the field of BRYOLOGY.
