In its history of 20 years, the the Grand Asian Chess Challenge (GACC) witnessed the best performance by a Sri Lankan team, as they won the 2nd place at the team event, in this year’s GACC held at University of Malaya from 21st to 27th January. And this achievement becomes even special as this victorious team is from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. In addition, several players were able to score at individual performances. A. C. B. Amerasinghe, W.C.C Perera, N. R. De Silva and P. S. Lokuge won 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th places respectively at their events.
