Prof. Gamini Ranasinghe, Professor of History and Archeology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, officially assumed duties as the new Director General of the Central Cultural Fund.
Prof. Gamini Ranasinghe, officially assumed duties on March 10, 2021 in the presence of Maha Sangha and Deshabandu Prof. Kapila Gunawardena; Secretary to the Ministry of Buddhasasana Religious and Cultural Affairs. Prof. Ranasinghe obtained the doctorate in from the University of Xiamen in China after following a Masters’ Degree in Archaeology from the University of Kelaniya. He read for his bachelors degree at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
