Sr. Prof. Sampath Amaratunge who is currently the twice appointed Vice Chancellor of University of Sri Jayewardenepura, the former Dean, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Former Chairman, Federation of University Teachers’ Association (FUTA), reputed economist and recognized by the private sector was made the Chairman of the Committee of Vice Chancellors and Directors (CVCD) for the year 2019 on the 8th of December 2018 at the final CVCD meeting held for the year at the South Eastern University.
The CVCD was first established in 1979 with the intention of creating a platform for all the University administrators to work under a collaborative environment helping each other to grow. The CVCD represents 23 Universities and campuses situated in various parts of the country.
