The Faculty of Technology at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura successfully hosted the Inaugural Ceremony of the International Conference on Circular Economy and Bioenergy on December 7, 2023. The event, titled “Transitioning to a Sustainable Future: Summit on Research-Based Education in Circular Economy and Bioenergy,” took place at the Grand Ballroom of the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo.
Dr. P.A Koliyabandara delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the conference. The opening remarks shed light on NORPART, the Norwegian Partnership Programme for Global Academic Cooperation, emphasizing the significance of international collaboration in academic pursuits.
The Dean of the Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, shared insights in an address, highlighting the importance of the conference theme. Keynote addresses were delivered by esteemed speakers Prof. Mohan Munasinghe and Dr. Chithral Ambawatte, adding depth to the discussions on circular economy and bioenergy.
