Since its inception in 2019, the UBL Cell of the USJ (USJ Tech-transfer) has been working closely with USJ researchers to protect and commercialize their inventions. Thirteen (13) USJ-owned and USJ Researcher-owned such inventions processed or assisted through the UBL Cell have been granted Patents by the NIPO and published in the Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, 22-01-2021. Out of these, the Patents (07) processed after the adoption of the USJ Intellectual Property Policy in January 2020 are under the USJ ownership. The UBL cell is currently seeking commercialization options for new inventions.
