USJ Student Tharushi Himahansi Claims the Top Spot in the National Carrom Rankings

The 54th Carrom Championship concluded on February 25 at the National Carrom Federation Sports Complex with a record turnout of nearly 350 competitors. Organized by the Sri Lanka Carrom Federation, the event showcased remarkable talent in the realm of carrom.

Tharushi Himahansi, a student at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, clinched the runner-up position in the women’s doubles division and secured fourth place in the women’s singles division. Her outstanding performance accumulated a total of 91 points, propelling her to the pinnacle of the Sri Lanka carrom rankings.

With this achievement, Tharushi solidifies her position as a formidable force in the sport and sets her sights on the upcoming 6th Asian Carrom Championship, scheduled from April 27 to May 1, 2024, in Male’, Maldives.
