Despite the testing times, students and staff at Japura have found ways and means to add colour to our university in celebration of Vesak 2016. While the devastating floods that have affected many Sri Lankans have turned most of their attention elsewhere, they’ve made this an opportunity to bring all devotees together not only in prayerful meditation but to also unite as one in helping all those affected by the devastating floods and landslides. As a result, most of the departments and student body’s which usually contribute to celebrations in the form of Dansal have today gathered to use all such funds for the upliftment of their fellow brethren. It’s truly beautiful when one’s innate goodness seeps out as compassion and it is indeed beautiful when it happens around you.
