The Annual Charity Project “Vidu Saviya 2023,” organized by the Buddhist Society of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, USJ in collaboration with the Sri Shakyaputhra Foundation headed by Ven. Sri Santhabodhi Thero and sponsored by Manusath Derana – TV Derana Network, concluded successfully on the 3rd of June 2023 at Welioya-Bogasweva.
“Vidu Saviya 2023” was an extension of the clothes and books donation project initiated by Dr. Sajith Edirisinghe in 2022. This year’s project included a successful health camp and health awareness programs for the general public, the distribution of essential school supplies to 100 school children facing financial difficulties in Bogaswewa, and the donation of over 1500 books to school libraries and clothes to residents in Welioya-Bogaswewa.
