An Innovative New Textbook on Human Resource Management

Senior Professor HHDNP Opatha attached to the Department of Human Resource Management, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura launched his new book titled Sustainable Human Resource Management by holding a simple formal ceremony on 07/01/2019 at the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of USJ.

This book is on Sustainable Human Resource Management, which will be one of the most important subjects in the education of Management of Organizations in the future and goals of the organization will have to be expanded to address current challenges which are being faced by HR Managers and other managers in contemporary organizations which are increasingly expected to serve not only owners and other direct stakeholders (customers, employees, and suppliers) but also society and environment. In the modern world, every organization and every manager must be concerned with making significant and positive contributions to the environmental, social, and economic performance of the organization. Sustainability is the most important issue that you and I have to deal with now and will have to deal with in the future too from the point of Management. The objective of this book is to provide a systematic and rational understanding of Sustainable HRM based on a model developed by the author, both conceptual understanding and application-oriented understanding to the reader.
