Stakeholder Consultation Session with Alumina of the Department of Marketing Management

The Department of Marketing Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura organized a Discussion Forum called as “Stakeholder Consultation Session with Alumina of the Department” in the process of revising the current curriculum of the B.Sc. Marketing Management (Special) Degree programme which is targeted to launch in 2020. The event was organized under the Faculty AHEAD project.

The purpose of the discussion was to show case the new curriculum of the Degree and the respective graduate profile to the Alumina members of the Department in order to get insights on their expectations from a marking graduate who passes out from the Department, challenges that they face when adopting into the corporate world, and how did they overcome such challenges, while getting their comments on the new curriculum by incorporating new trends and opportunities in the market both locally and globally. The outcome of the discussion is to introduce new course units (subjects), revise the existing course units to match the curriculum with the latest trends, new knowledge in the discipline while developing required generic and discipline-specific skills and attitudes of the students. New teaching-learning mechanisms and evaluation techniques are also expected to adopt while closely collaborating with the Alumina of the Department in order to make sure the graduates of the Department are suitable for the highly dynamic era ahead
