The 19th External Degree Convocation of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura was successfully held on 13 September 2026 at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo, celebrating a significant milestone in the academic journeys of its graduates.
A total of 1,864 graduates were conferred their degrees, marking the culmination of years of dedication, commitment, and perseverance.
The occasion was graced by the presence of the Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Most Venerable Dr. Ittapana Dhammalankara Anu Nayake Maha Thero, Vice-Chancellor of University Senior Professor Upul Subasinghe and Director of the External Degrees and Extension Course Unit Senior Professor Rupika Senadheera, along with members of the academic staff and other distinguished university officials. Their presence added great significance to the occasion as they joined in celebrating the academic achievements of the graduates and this important milestone in their educational journey.
The ceremony celebrated not only the academic achievements of the graduates but also the invaluable support and encouragement of their families, lecturers, and the wider university community who stood beside them throughout their journey.
