MoU Between USJ and University of Western Ontario (Canada)

University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJP) and the University of Western Ontario (UWO) of Canada signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the 26th of October 27, 2015. The objective of the MOU is to establish long-term research collaboration in fields which are compatible with the orientation of both universities. This will especially allow graduate students from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura to travel to Canada for a pre-determined period of time and continue their post-graduate studies which will lead into the awarding of a dual-PhD upon completion. This MOU will also facilitate researchers to travel between the two universities in order to improve exposure and sharing of knowledge and information. Prof. Sampath Amaratunge, Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Prof. Ranil De Silva, Director of the World Class Project and Dr. Akila Subasinghe, a Senior Lecturer from the proposed Faculty of Engineering represented USJP on the signed MOU.
