A memorandum of understanding was signed between the University and the International Institute of Knowledge Management (pvt) Ltd. (TIIKM), on 29th October 2015 in view of BioTech 2016 conference to be held on 12 – 14 January 2016. BioTech 2016 is the first international conference on Bio-science and Biotechnology. With the MOU, the ‘Vidyodaya Journal of Science’ will be the journal partner for this international conference. USJP will contribute a special edition of the journal for BioTech 2016.
The MOU was signed by the Vice Chancellor Prof.Sampath Amaratunge on behalf of the university while Prof.Sudantha Liyanage signed for the Faculty of Applied Sciences. The Chairman of TIIKM, Oshadee Withanawasam signed on the institution’s behalf.
