The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura welcomed its new intake with an inauguration ceremony of the Orientation program on 13th February 2023. The ceremony was held at the Bandarayake Hall of the University and was attended by the Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura; Prof. S M C U P Subasinghe, the Registrar of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura; Mr.A.B. Weliwita, the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce; Prof. P.D. Nimal, and other academic members of the faculty.
The event was designed to provide an introduction to the University and the Faculty for new students. Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Subasinghe, along with Dean, Prof. Nimal, addressed the students, sharing insights on the current context of the faculty and the manner in which the faculty and students must move forward with progressive technology to further improve their university life.
During the ceremony, the President of the Student Union of the Faculty welcomed the new students and spoke about the student culture at the University. The program, which began on 13th February, continued until 18th February 2023, giving students an opportunity to learn about the University and the Faculty. Academic activities for new students at the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce will commence from 20th February 2023 onwards. The Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce looks forward to welcoming its new intake and is excited about the journey ahead.
