USJ signs MoU with Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand to start two year MSc program in Management

An MoU was signed by both parties to strengthen collaboration between Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and USJ in relation to a potential scholarship arrangement for a two-year master’s degree program in the School of Management (SOM) of AIT.

Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto, President, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand and other officials from AIT visited the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) on 13th February, 2023. The delegation of AIT included Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, Executive Director, Office of Advancement & Alumni Affairs, AIT, Mr. Voravate Chonlasin, Executive Director, AIT Extension, Dr. Nitin Kumar Tripathi, Chairman-Academic Senate, Director, Special Degree Programs and Professor of Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing and GIS and Ms. Sirikate Owasit, Senior Advancement Officer, Office of Advancement & Alumni Affairs.

They were warmly welcomed by Prof. Upul Subasinghe, Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Prof. Amila Jayarathne, Director, International Affairs Division, and Dr. Sandamali Galdolage, Coordinator of the International Affairs Division to the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce.

Prof. Subasinghe provided a brief introduction about the University followed by a brief introduction about AIT by Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe.

The MoU signed enables a graduate of USJ to apply for a half scholarship in the following three masters programmes offered by AIT.

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • M/M.Sc. in International Finance
  • M/M.Sc. in Business Analytics and Digital Transformation
