Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) and USJ Forge Strategic Partnership with MoU

In a significant move towards fostering financial literacy and practical knowledge in capital markets, the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ). This collaboration aims to empower undergraduates in Sri Lanka by offering strategic initiatives focused on capital market education.

The partnership includes providing practical training and internship opportunities for USJ students in disciplines such as accountancy and finance, business management, and economics. The CSE will also recognize exceptional research and commercialization efforts by granting awards to outstanding students.

Under the MoU, the University of Sri Jayewardenepura will actively contribute to the CSE’s educational initiatives, including the Advanced Diploma in Financial Markets (ADFM). The university will provide expertise and resource persons for seminars and workshops organized by the CSE, reaching investors across the country and promoting capital market investments.

Rajeeva Bandaranaike, CEO of the CSE, emphasized the initiative’s aim to promote financial literacy, especially among undergraduates, as a crucial segment capable of contributing to a stable economic future. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Senior Professor Pathmalal M. Manage, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, foreseeing increased opportunities for both institutions.
