“Do what is right for you, not what others say is right for you”
The voices of iron lady’s here in Sri Lanka are seldom heard and spoken of. Women entrepreneurs even though exist in numbers are not often known of. However there’s always an exception, a beacon of light; the undergraduates reading for their Bsc. In Applied Sciences and the Department of Business Administration together with the Department of Entrepreneurship of the Faculty of Management studies and commerce organized two sessions at their respective faculties at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura making way for this exception to speak of her inspiring journey as an entrepreneur, a visionary, a role model and a passionate environmental activist renowned not only here in Sri Lanka but also in the global arena.
A lady who started young, an individual who began from scratch, a person who followed her dreams despite the winds of challenge, a great leader and a human being zealous of animal welfare are all in line when introducing this iron lady, Otara Gunewardene.
She joined some of us on 6th May 6, 2016 for a few hours of friendly conversation wherein our blossoming undergraduates had an opportunity to listen to her, converse with her and most of all be inspired by her.
