Ms. Amanda Perera elected as Treasurer to the GRIPS Community International Student Council

Ms. Amanda Perera-lecturer of Department of Business Economics and who graduated from University of Sri Jayewardenepura won the election to the position of Treasurer at the GRIPS Community International Student Council in Japan.

The National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) is an international premier policy school with the aim of contributing to the betterment of democratic governance around the world. GRIPS provides interdisciplinary education for future leaders in the public sector and conduct research on contemporary policy issues to generate innovative solutions. Founded in 1997 as a stand-alone graduate institute, GRIPS is comprised of world-class academics and distinguished practitioners with expertise in public sector policy formulation and management. Around 20% of the faculty and 70% of students are recruited from outside Japan. GRIPS’s diverse student body consists of almost 400 members hailing from 63 countries and regions who admitted to the institute with the ambition to advance good governance across the globe or contribute to policy related research. GRIPS has produced over 5,000 graduates in 110 countries.

Ms. Perera holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Business Economics) (Special) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), and she is currently reading for a Master of Science degree at GRIPS, Japan. She has extensive experience in teaching and research supervision over many years and she has published a significant number of research articles in the fields of economics and management. Between the years 2020 and 2022, she served as the secretary of the Research Center for Business Economics and Development Studies (RCBEDS).
