Ceremony to tribute Mr. Bandara Dissanayaka and W. K. H.  Wegapitiya recently recognized and honored alumni of the University was held on 26th February 2019 at the main board room of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce. This ceremony was organized by the Alumni Association of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

Mr. Bandara Dissanayaka, Managing Director of the Sakya Academy of Higher education and Saegis Campus was recently awarded “Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year 2018” award and Mr. W. K. H. Wegapitiya; LAUGFS Holdings Chairman with the prestigious “Hall of Fame” award by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) at the 23rd Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year Awards ceremony.

Prof. Sampath Amaratunge; Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Dr. Anura U. Kumara; Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, Prof. Sunil Ariyarathna; Former head of the Department of Sinhala and Mass Communication, Mr. Ranjith Iddamalgoda; National coordinator of the Alumni Association of the university, heads of departments and a large number of alumni members participated in  the ceremony.
