To commemorate the timeline of jubilee celebrations and most importantly to coincide with the traditional dates of the declaration, all-night Pirith Chanting on 17th February 2019  and almsgiving for 145 Theros on 18th February 2019 were taken place to invoke blessings on the University and the University Community.

Honorable Mahasanga including Ven. Dr. Ittapana Dhammalankara Maha Nayake Maha Thero; Chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Prof. Sampath Amaratunge; Vice-chancellor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura graced the auspicious event. Also, Deans of the faculties, Heads of the Departments, academic members, administrative officials, alumni members, non-academic staff members, and undergraduates participated in this religious ceremony.
